What does this poem evoke?

I can picture this person blushing. He/she stepped into some vulnerable position, admitting his/her feelings for another, but was either not reciprocated, or the other took advantage of him/her and then ended the relationship. The person blames him/herself mainly, but is very slowly getting over it ("recovering", starts by asking why self taking the blame). This person believe he/she will recover if he/she can forget the person who hurt him/her.
