One of my best friends ran away from home, what should i do?

he ran away from home. this is the second time hes done this. his stepmom called me saying if he asks to sleep over or something like that that i should tell his parents about it, but hes one of my best friends. i know its probablt the right thing to do, but would it be fine if he comes over and i let him stay with me for a bit? i really just need some advice on this
