Whats best in the long run,metal roofing or shingles?

well metal roofing will last longer in the long run especialy if you get a good one to start( thick guage, galvinized,coated,tin,) then make sure you screw it down on the high points using a screw with a polthane washer the ruber ones dry out faster. the down side to metal is it has no sound or insulation value so you should factor in your climate...shingles reduse rain,sleet hail noise and even road noise and air trafic too...as well as helps on the heat bills holding in the heat.
