My marriage is failing horribly, anything to make it better?
My wife is currently deployed to Afghanistan, and about two days ago she told me she just wasn't happy with me anymore. Now she refuses to talk to me unless its very short phrases such as "I don't know what to say." We've been married for about 18 months now, she has been deployed for almost 3 months now. I started attending counseling about 3 weeks ago to try to fix my personal problems and insecurities to maybe help the marriage overall. We didn't have the greatest first year of marriage, I guess I didn't adjust to the new lifestyle until it was too late and now she says she put a wall up. We have both been completely faithful to each other since we have known each other so that's not an issue. My wife has a troubled past with a very bad stepfather that does not deserve to walk or breath, a subject I mistakenly bring up and I now feel terrible for. I can be immature a lot at the age of 23, and so can she (22) so I realize that a lot of our arguments can be solved without escalation but they never seem to do that. I guess I'm just looking for some good advice from people with experience. I would do anything for her, but I'm at the point of believing she would be better without me since she isn't happy with me.
