My dad doesnt want me to get involved w/show buisness 10 points to best advice?

I enjoy acting and dancing like things to do with entertaining but my dad doesnt want me to get involved w/ it.My stepmom supports me and says I can do whatever I want and its my decision.my dads like''celebrities are some of the most miserable ppl in the world,even though they can get anything they want whenever they want,they;re still miserable.And you wont have apersonal life at all, you'll be pressured to look and act a certain way and its not as fun as it sounds and u will lose all ur friends and the fame and money will go to your head, '' do u think he is right?or should I continue to pursue my dream or just give up?
