Is Side Parting in vogue for Young guys ?

I would like to have your opinion on this - My boyfriend is 27 yrs. Good body. Chennai guy - black hair but not that dense. Which hairstyle would suit him generally ? Short one or a long one ? And, is the side parting in fashion for young men now ? I personally feel that if a guy parts his hair on either side, he looks childish - though, it is my personal opinion. What do you say about this ? Should my bf part his hair or comb it all over back ? Whether it should be short or long ? Please help me with pics.
